ENGLISH BELOW

Satnica:
11.00: Otvaranje izložbe fotografija “Putevi” i izložbe radova Samia Rasoulia (Avganistan)

“The new taste of a shared life” – Meeting and getting to know young refugees living in Serbia and organizations working with them

Hundreds of people came and still come to Serbia on their journey to Western Europe, how long they stay here does not depend on their wishes or plans, but on the current system of controlling EU borders that jeopardize the right to freedom of movement and systematically produces violence and marginalization.
Several individuals, activists, organizations decided to invest their efforts in working with those who come to Serbia and live here in the hope that one day they will reach a better destination.

On Saturday, we will listen to stories, experiences and opinions that they will share with us. We will also have the chance to get to know young refugees living in Belgrade, and join them in preparing food from their home countries. We invite you to come and cook with us. Because it’s better when friendship begins in the kitchen or at the dinner table, isn’t it? 🙂

Schedule:

11.00: Opening of photo-exhibition “Roads” and exhibition of the works of Sami Rasouli (Afghanistan)
11.00: Cooking workshop of vegan meals from Afghanistan (to participate, send an email to: ida@volontiraj.rs)
14.00: Community vegan lunch (donation-based) and informal time
15.00 Panel Discussion on the response of the civil sector to the arrival of refugees to Serbia (with the participation of representatives of No Name Kitchen, Rigardu and Refugee Foundation)

This event is organized in the framework of the project Balkan Steps II (supported by the Refugee Fund of SCI, in the framework of the campaign #Building Bridges) and the project Branching out- (re)connecting ideas, funded by the European Youth Initiative grant of the Council of Europe.
